NaphCare Reaches Industry-Leading Milestone with Prestigious NCCHC Pinnacle Award

NaphCare, a leading provider of correctional healthcare services, today announced that its partners, Clackamas County Jail in Oregon and Pima County Adult Detention Complex in Arizona, were awarded the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) Pinnacle Award at the 2025 National Conference on Correctional Health Care. Both facilities earned the recognition by achieving NCCHC accreditation in three critical areas: health services, mental health, and opioid treatment programs (OTP).

To date, only six correctional facilities have received the esteemed NCCHC Pinnacle Award; five of those recipients are NaphCare partners. This achievement underscores NaphCare's proven ability to help facilities achieve and maintain the highest standards of correctional healthcare.

The NCCHC Pinnacle Award represents the highest level of recognition in correctional healthcare, awarded to facilities that achieve accreditation in multiple service areas while demonstrating exceptional compliance with nationally recognized standards across governance, patient care, staffing, and specialized programs.

Industry-Leading Track Record of Excellence

• Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office (2021) – Made history as the first facility in the nation to receive the NCCHC Pinnacle Award. The Falkenburg Road Jail and Orient Road Jail simultaneously achieved accreditation across all three service areas, establishing the benchmark for comprehensive correctional healthcare excellence.
• Middlesex County Office of Adult Corrections and Youth Services (2024) – Became the second facility nationally to achieve triple accreditation. This partnership, spanning since 2016, demonstrates NaphCare's ability to implement innovative healthcare solutions including enhanced opioid withdrawal protocols and comprehensive Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) programs.
• Washoe County Detention Facility (2024) – Earned recognition as the third facility nationally to receive this honor. The facility's success across jail health services, mental health services, and opioid treatment programs showcases NaphCare's consistent methodology for achieving excellence in diverse operational environments.
