TechCareTM

Electronic Medical Records System, TechCareTM

NaphCare is the leader in progressive correctional healthcare programs and we are committed to continually advancing our technology, resulting in greater accuracy, improved services, reduced liability, and reduced costs. We recognize the numerous advantages that technology can bring to the world of correctional healthcare. TechCareTM has been designed to track all inmate healthcare encounters from intake to release, while providing documentation of services every step of the way. Routine services are automated and paper files are reduced, which allows healthcare professionals to spend more time on patient care. NaphCare offers this system to significantly increase the efficiency and accountability of the healthcare program, while following local, state and federal standards of care. With a team of caregivers trained to collaborate, direct access to senior executives, and an industry-designed EMR system with built-in performance based measures; NaphCare is setting a new standard for correctional healthcare providers.

As part of the correctional facility's booking process, the TechCareTM screening captures critical inmate healthcare information. This allows a snapshot of the inmate's medical history to be utilized by healthcare staff to continue to meet the inmate's needs throughout his/her incarceration, while following correctional healthcare requirements. This includes but is not limited to:

  • Intake Screening
  • 14-day Health Assessments
  • Tuberculosis Testing
  • Mental Health Screening
  • Sick Call Requests
  • Management of Chronic Disease Clinics
  • Prescription Ordering
  • Off-site Preferred Provider Network Scheduling
  • Laboratory Results

Designed to meet the unique needs of the correctional healthcare industry

NaphCare's competitive advantage is our integration of technology into the healthcare services we provide. NaphCare developed TechCareTM as an EMR system unique in the correctional healthcare industry. Designed to track the health status of the incarcerated populations of our client facilities, this begins with the inmate's admission into the facility and continues until his/her release. The screening module allows site personnel to record each inmate's vital statistics, current medications, and medical history during the booking process. Medical and mental health conditions are identified immediately upon arrival, providing faster stabilization and a more efficient healthcare delivery system. Inmates who have a chronic illness are immediately classified into the appropriate Chronic Disease category (diabetes, hypertension, seizures, mental health, and infectious disease) for follow-up and treatment. Medical staff is also automatically alerted about follow-up appointments to ensure inmates receive needed specialized care.

TechCareTM provides a consistent, standardized approach to correctional healthcare, based on the National Commission on Correctional healthcare (NCCHC) and the American Correctional Association (ACA) standards. Medical intake services are monitored for strict compliance, to ensure that at-risk inmates are accurately identified. All medical testing, results, appointments, and sick-call requests are documented. The transparency of contracted services are readily available for administrators, as the TechCareTM system allows customizable reports that can suit each user's needs. We will ensure that all requested information is available and in the format specified by the facility. This system has successfully been interfaced with existing jail management systems, providing both security and adaptability.
