NaphCare is selected by Benton County, Washington, to Provide Healthcare Management for County Inmates

BIRMINGHAM, AL — NaphCare, Inc., an independent partner to correctional facilities nationwide for innovative healthcare management and technology solutions, was recently selected by the Benton County Sheriff’s Office to provide comprehensive medical care to the inmates housed at the Benton County Jail located in Kennewick, Washington, about 30 miles from the Oregon border.

The Sheriff has the responsibility to supervise the healthcare program for persons held in County custody, overseeing a population of 550 male and female detainees.  Beginning on June 1st, NaphCare assumed  responsibility for the management of all facets of medical, dental, and emergency care at the Jail.  In addition, NaphCare will provide off-site hospital/physician network development, medical scheduling, and a web-based medical records system to optimally manage inmate care and costs.

“Our entire team has worked hard to foster a strong and positive relationship with Benton County to pursue our mutual goal of caring for each and every inmate patient as efficiently as possible,” said Jack Donahue, NaphCare’s Senior Vice President, Western States.  “We’re excited to be able to expand our footprint in Washington and are committed to a long term partnership with the Sheriff.”

When reached for comment, Sheriff Jerry Hatcher added, “The Benton County Sheriff’s Office is looking forward to this new partnership with NaphCare.  With NaphCare, our jail will have 24-hour inmate medical health care to best serve the inmates we house and our dedicated correctional staff.”
