NaphCare Awarded New Contract to Provide Medical Services at Federal Correctional Institution, Tallahassee, FL

BIRMINGHAM, AL — NaphCare, Inc., an independent partner to correctional facilities nationwide for innovative healthcare management and technology solutions, was recently awarded a contract with the Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) to provide comprehensive medical services to the inmates of the Federal Correctional Institution in Tallahassee, Florida (FCI Tallahassee).

FCI Tallahassee is a minimum security prison for approximately 850 female inmates with an adjacent detention center that houses low-security male offenders.  On June 1st, NaphCare assumed full responsibility for the management of all off-site care and now offers the prison a full array of services that include network development and contracting, medical scheduling, and a web-based medical records system to better manage inmate healthcare and costs.

When an inmate’s health requires them to go outside of the prison for care, NaphCare works closely with the prison medical staff and local providers in Tallahassee to streamline the delivery of care, using proven cost-saving strategies common in the private sector.  NaphCare negotiates discounted rates at area hospitals, ensures that only approved and medically necessary care is administered, and reviews every medical claim for accurate billing and coding.

“NaphCare is excited about this new partnership with FCI Tallahassee, and we are committed to working side-by-side with the prison to improve care for each and every inmate patient as efficiently as possible,” said Yolanda Walker, NaphCare’s Vice President of Federal Operations.  “Our goal is to exceed the expectations of the Federal Bureau of Prisons and FCI Tallahassee.”
