NaphCare announces renewal of pharmacy contract with Alabama Department of Public Health

Birmingham, AL, (April 23, 2009) - NaphCare, a Birmingham - based provider of correctional health care, was recently re-awarded a contract for a professional pharmacy services program for the Alabama Department of Public HealthHealth, Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control. NaphCare has been providing the services to the ADPH-ADRP for the past 13 years.

NaphCare works with the clinic doctors and administrators, to coordinate the timeliness and appropriateness of prescriptions. They dispense and ship the filled prescriptions to each of 17 clinics to be distributed to the respective patients.

NaphCare also does frequent analysis and electronic reporting to DPH to assist them in their ongoing evaluations of the program.

NaphCare has two decades of experience managing a full range of healthcare programs for inmates. They currently serve over 40 clients in 23 states, employing approximately 800 dedicated healthcare professionals. Their clients include 19 Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) facilities, 12 Department of Corrections facilities, 9 county jails and 1 city jail.
