NaphCare Announces New Federal Contracts
Birmingham, AL, (November 3, 2009) - NaphCare, a Birmingham - based provider of correctional health care, was recently awarded three new contracts and one renewal contract from the Federal Bureau of Prisons. All contracts are for a period of five years.
The three new contracts include Metropolitan Detention Center Brooklyn, Metropolitan Correctional Center New York, and the Federal Correctional Institution Oxford.
The renewal contract is with the Federal Correctional Institution Terra Haute, which includes the United States Penitentiary and satellite camp facilities. Terre Haute has an inmate population of 3,223. NaphCare has been providing services in Terra Haute since 2004.
The MDC Brooklyn has a population of 2,437 inmates and MCC New York has a population of 864 inmates. Both contracts were awarded on November 2, 2009. The FCI Oxford has a population of 1,339 inmates and was awarded on October 7, 2009.
NaphCare has been providing comprehensive medical services to the Bureau of Prisons for over 6 years now. Services provided in the contracts include: developing and managing a comprehensive community based network of hospitals and providers, onsite specialty services, appointment scheduling, medical records, claims adjudication, financial reporting.
