Washington County’s own Colin Storz, PAC and Melanie Menear, RN HSA along with WCSO Deputies Gabler and Kaiser were honored with the Oregon State Sheriff’s Association’s Life Saving Award for their efforts in successfully saving a female inmates life after she suffered a serious self-inflicted wound to her left arm. PA Storz, Ms. Menear and Deputies Gabler and Kaiser were able to immediately stabilize the wound with manual pressure then applied trauma tourniquets from the emergency bags. The inmate regained consciousness and remained stable until EMS/FIRE arrived to transport her to the Emergency room. The inmate was able to make a semi-full recovery given the extent of her injury.
The OSSA Life Saving Award is given to individual(s) who perform a clear, distinctive, and successful life-saving act in which there was a strong possibility the person would have died if the actions had not been taken.
NaphCare recently attended the Major County Sheriff’s Association (MCSA) Conference held at the Grand Hotel on the historic Mackinac Island in Michigan. The MCSA is a professional law enforcement organization of elected sheriffs representing over 100 million people throughout the United States.

On August 19, 2011, NaphCare was a Gold Sponsor for the 2nd Annual Black Hawk County, IA DON’T Golf Tournament; held at the South Hills Golf Course in Waterloo, IA. The golf tournament serves as an annual fund raiser for the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office Community Service Fund. The Community Services Program provides educational information for students throughout the county on the dangers of drugs, alcohol, and violent behavior. It also encourages positive decision making through understanding choices and consequences.
NaphCare is always eager to give back to the communities in which we serve. We have provided correctional healthcare services to the Black Hawk County Jail for over 10 years.
NaphCare was recently awarded the Florida Sheriffs Association’s Lifetime Honorary Member Award due to their generous contributions to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches. Mr. Percy Goode (center), NaphCare’s Director of Business Development, accepted the award on behalf of the company. It was presented by Youth Ranches Board Chairman Clay County Sheriff Rick Beseler (left) and Youth Ranches President Roger Bouchard (right) during the Florida Sheriff’s Association Summer Conference in Daytona Beach, FL.
On April 18, 2011, NaphCare was a birdie sponsor for the 30th Annual Gwinnett County Police Chief’s Association Charity Golf Classic, held at the Gwinnett Country Club. All the proceeds of this event are dedicated to assist law enforcement employees and their families in times of need within the Gwinnett County, GA police department.
